Carved by Peter Calvesbert Series - Small Treasure Jest Release Date - June 1996 Availablity - Retired October 2000 Edition Size - 19394 Dimensions - 2.36 x 2.32 x 2.91 Reference - TJFL (Sta5107) Manufactured in the UK by Harmony Kingdom
This box figurine is from Peter’s golf-crazed days. Even the necks of the flamingos are reminiscent of golf clubs. Inside is the bent golf putter of Greg Norman (Australian professional golfer) who had just been defeated by Nick Faldo (British) in the US Open. Look for the anagram on the rim of the base referring to the German outsider that Peter hoped would win, Alexander Cejka. The mouse is hiding behind a flamingo neck. The first two thousand flamingos had black beaks, but due to the number of black smudges that were occurring, the painting specification was changed in September 1996 to pale yellow beaks. Hallmarks include diamond, clock face with month 4, HBC logo, and Pc.
This piece has yellow beaks
Box for this piece is a little scuffed around the edges and has a red sticker on it!
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 3 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
