This box figurine portrays sea turtles at their most vulnerable � as they hatch and make a mad dash to the sea. The seven species are inscribed throughout: Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback, Loggerhead, Flatback, Kemp�s Ridley and Olive Ridley. Interestingly, the sex of the turtle depends on the temperature of the eggs. At 28°C they become males and at 32°C they are females. Anywhere in between is a tossup. Since sea turtles hatch at night, the interior portrays a turtle with a torch and compass.
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 3 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
