This single study toad box figurine was carved to commemorate one of Peter’s very first and still beloved pieces – “Princely Thoughts”. Like its predecessor, it does not incorporate Peter’s signature hidden mouse or secrets. “Samsara” derives from the Sanskrit word samsarah, meaning cycle of life. Does this allude to a toad becoming a prince in roundabout homage to “Princely Thoughts”, or is it a broader statement on the meaning of existence? Either way, the lovely simplicity of the piece is without doubt. And some of HK’s earliest collectors may find themselves overwhelmed with nostalgia.

Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
