Can you envision a creature with three hearts and green blood? Peter can, and did!
New for January release is Never Mind the Mollusc, Peter's first ever cuttlefish box figurine. It's so exotic that you may feel the urge to take up scuba diving. If you choose to purchase one of the 1000 fixed edition 'Never Mind the Mollusc' box figurines, you'll enjoy a piece of the tropics in your very own home.
What has three hearts, two retractable tentacles, eight renewable arms, green blood, jet propulsion, a beak like a parrot, and better defense mechanisms than a James Bond car? The answer: a cuttlefish. Most of you know of Peter's love for the strangest creatures around. Well this one ticks all the boxes and more. The cuttlefish is gas filled and can propel itself along with jets of water. It produces sepia ink that it uses to fool predators. Its ink also has been used by artists for centuries. This complex creature can change color in less than a second, enabling it to match its environment and display to other cuttlefish. Two large eyes give it a comical appearance, which of course appealed to Peter when choosing the subject. A bottle of sepia ink and a quill pen are found within this eccentric box figurine. There is also an interior memo which reads "Kill Wife";. This, according to Peter, 'is because my wife managed to bake the model while I was drying it in the oven. . .only a week's work F****D up'.
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
