The B-52’s had a catchy number one hit with “Love Shack”, and HK’s got an extra special, top of the charts Treasure Jest by the same name. “Love Shack” has a worldwide edition of only 1000, and it is the first HK piece with an unusual vertical slide lid.

The story of a bird returning from extinction was too amazing to ignore. The bird, the magnificent ivory-billed woodpecker, was believed to have disappeared from its Southern United States wetland habitat as it had not been sighted for many years. Then on February 27th, 2004, Bobby Harrison and Tim Gallagher spotted one in Arkansas. This was followed by an intensive search and more sightings. The plight of this woodpecker is far from over, but if it can regain a toehold, what an amazing recovery! Peter’s model shows why the woodpecker has been so elusive over the years. He's hiding in his tree stump which is well stocked with food. Inscribed on the sliding lid is "Hi Cecil", a reference to Cecil Williams, the proprietor of Wild Birds of Pleasant Hill, who brought the woodpeckers’ rediscovery to Peter’s attention. Another inscription, “C.Eckman”, refers to Christian Eckman, an HK collector who first asked Peter to carve the ivory-billed woodpecker many years ago. Note that 100 of this 1000 piece fixed edition have a more vividly colored squirrel, and only 50 portray an interior mouse operating a power drill. This is Peter’s first model with a vertical lid.

Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
