Throughout Master Carver Peter Calvesbert’s storied sculpting career, he has carved very few baby animals. With “Rough and Tumble”, he’s set about to remedy the situation. Although Peter usually likes to add humor at every opportunity, he felt that the lion cubs were playful enough so he resisted the urge (for once)! He also kept the staining to a minimum so that the model had the look of an early Harmony Kingdom piece. Secrets, too, are scarce, as he preferred a more naturalistic look. Lift the lid to find a lion in a rugby shirt. Peter chose this interior as the national rugby team is known as the British Lions.

Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
